Students at the University of Minnesota killed a proposed moment of silence for 9/11 victims due to concerns that Muslim students would be offended.Theo Menon, a Minnesota Student Association representative realized that the university wasn’t doing anything to memorialize 9/11.So, on October 6, he introduced an MSA proposal to asking the university to institute a “moment of recognition” during the mornings of all future September 11ths.The resolution in no way referred to Islam or to whether Islam itself is to blame for global terrorism. It did not require anyone to contemplate the fact that the terrorists responsible for 9/11 were Muslims. “It merely stated that 9/11 has had a lasting effect on many students, and ought to be reflected upon for a single moment, once a year.”
“The passing of this resolution might make a space that is unsafe for students on campus even more unsafe,” he said. Algadi expressed concerns- in an email to the Washington Post – that efforts to recognize 9/11 are sometimes “thinly-veiled expressions of Islamophobia.”

MIT Climate Scientist Dr. Richard Lindzen: Demonization of CO2 is irrational at best and even modest warming is mostly beneficial. – When someone says this is the warmest temperature on record. What are they talking about? It’s just nonsense. This is a very tiny change period.Princeton Physicist Dr. Will Happer: Policies to slow CO2 emissions are really based on nonsense. We are being led down a false path. To call carbon dioxide a pollutant is really Orwellian. You are calling something a pollutant that we all produce. Where does that lead us eventually?Greenpeace Co-Founder Dr. Patrick Moore: We are dealing with pure political propaganda that has nothing to do with science.

In a second letter in less than a week to Commerce Secretary Penny Pritzker, Smith urged her to pressure NOAA to comply with his subpoena for internal communications. Smith says whistleblowers have come forward with new information on the climate study’s path to publication in June. The study refuted claims that global warming had “paused” or slowed over the past decade, undercutting a popular argument used by those who refute the scientific consensus that man-made pollution is behind global warming. The research, considered a bombshell in the climate change debate, set off alarms among skeptics. Smith, a prominent congressional skeptic, claimed that scientists manipulated data to advance President Obama’s agenda and timed the study’s release to coincide the the administration’s new limits on emissions from coal plants.

In what appears to be a first for a serious presidential contender, Hillary Clinton’s campaign is going after five comedians who made fun of the former Secretary of State in standup skits at a popular Hollywood comedy club.A video of the short performance, which is less than three minutes, is posted on the website of the renowned club, Laugh Factory, and the Clinton campaign has tried to censor it. Besides demanding that the video be taken down, the Clinton campaign has demanded the personal contact information of the performers that appear in the recording. This is no laughing matter for club owner Jamie Masada, a comedy guru who opened Laugh Factory more than three decades ago and has been instrumental in launching the careers of many famous comics. “They threatened me,” Masada told Judicial Watch. “I have received complains before but never a call like this, threatening to put me out of business if I don’t cut the video.”

The sun will go into “hibernation” mode around 2030, and it has already started to get sleepy. At the Royal Astronomical Societys annual meeting in July, Professor Valentina Zharkova of Northumbria University in the UK confirmed it – the sun will begin its Maunder Minimum (Grand Solar Minimum) in 15 years. Other scientists had suggested years ago that this change was imminent, but Zharkovas model is said to have near-perfect accuracy.

The reality that many simply cannot fathom is that there are just some people that we cannot coexist with, people who either want to murder us or enslave us. Apparently, 76-year-old Richard Lakin, former principal at Glastonbury’s Hopewell School, never learned that lesson, but promoted the myth of “coexistence.” He was murdered by Islamic terrorists from Palestine while in Jerusalem recently.

Ugly numbers are cropping up across the country, from Minnesota to Arizona to South Dakota. The story profiles an accountant from Oklahoma whose premiums are jumping by $600 per month over last years rates, a 66 percent increase. In all, CBS reports, he could end up paying roughly $20,000 for healthcare coverage in 2016. “The first job when I got out of school was $16,500,” he told the network. “You know thats a lot of money.” The administrations own projections predict weak enrollment growth during the current sign-up period, for reasons weve addressed previously: “The uninsured people most eager to enroll, predictably, were older, sicker consumers, many with pre-existing conditions. This phenomenon has produced a risk pool thats more expensive to cover — without the needed legions of younger, healthier enrollees in the mix to defray and absorb those increases. Thus, the coming rate shock that will accompany rising out-of-pocket costs for consumers within both the individual and employer-based markets.” That last link is particularly important, as it illustrates the rising costs for Americans who werent among the millions who lost their existing plans under Obamacare. The top barrier to entry for uninsured Americans remains lack of affordability. Meanwhile, Utah and Arizona have joined the parade of Obamacare co-op failures last week — becoming the tenth and eleventh such program to shut down. On another front, industry experts are raising concerns about Obamacares ongoing access issues:

At the upcoming United Nations Climate Summit in Paris, participating nations have prepared a treaty that would create an “International Tribunal of Climate Justice” giving Third World countries the power to haul the U.S. into a global court with enforcement powers.Congress would be bypassed – left out in the cold – by this climate deal, critics say.Policies once left to sovereign nations could be turned over to a U.N. body if the U.S. and its allies approve the proposed deal in Paris during the summit scheduled for Nov. 30-Dec. 11.
